This same rainbow shows up in the view from Taryn's living room window in Waiehu, Maui, almost every day around 4pm. It's become one of the most consistent elements of her life....and it's a rainbow? It always seems to be radiating from the small "hippie town" of Paia where our gallery is located - which would only make sense. She very carefully sculpted the water in this piece - paying special attention to the modeling of each pattern and curve. It was then coated in silver leafing, and each ripple was glazed individually. The sand is made from layers of old Hawaiian coffee bags, and the sky sculpted from many layers of tinted modeling paste.
